Personalized Mental Health Support
for Youth and Young Adults

Getting Started

How do I start?
Book a free 10-minute consultation (here) to see if we're the right fit. Then, we'll set up your first appointment within 5-7 business days.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. As you progress, we might shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions. We'll adjust based on your needs and progress.
How do I prepare for my first session?
Before your first session, you'll receive forms to fill out through our secure client portal. Come prepared to discuss your current challenges and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It's normal to feel nervous – we'll take things at your pace.
What age groups do you work with?
I specialize in youth and young adults (teens to late 20s). I can also work with children as young as 6 and adults who seek wellness consultation alongside their youth.

Counseling and Therapy Basics

What's the difference between counseling and therapy?
The terms are often used interchangeably. Both involve working collaboratively to address personal challenges and promote mental health.
What's your approach to therapy?
I use an integrative approach, blending techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and person-centered therapy. We'll tailor the approach to your specific needs.
How long does therapy typically last?
The duration varies based on individual needs. We'll discuss your goals and create a tailored plan. Some clients see results in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 45-50 minutes. Groups run 60-90 minutes.
Do you prescribe medication?
As a counselor, I don't prescribe medication. If we feel medication might be beneficial, I can provide referrals to psychiatrists or other medical professionals.
Do you offer crisis services?
While I'm here to support you, I'm not a crisis service. If you're experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For urgent but non-emergency support, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

Fees and Payments

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), and HSA/FSA cards.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for sessions?
Yes, most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can be used to pay for therapy services.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not take insurance. This allows for more privacy and flexible care. We're out-of-network but provide receipts for potential reimbursement.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
While our fees are already set lower than average to accommodate cash-paying clients, we can discuss options if you're experiencing financial hardship.

Policies and Confidentiality

Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions. I'm required to report situations involving danger to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of minors or vulnerable adults.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please provide 24 hours notice to avoid full session charges. We understand emergencies happen.
What if I need to cancel a session?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations to avoid being charged the full session fee. We understand that emergencies happen and will handle those situations compassionately.
